  • Difficulty: Hard Time: 7–8 hours return

Nerja to Frigiliana Walk

A beautiful inland route linking Nerja with the whitewashed hill village of Frigiliana. Perfect if you want a less strenuous but very scenic half-day walk.

  • Tip: Walk one way and get the local bus back

Best coastal walks

Maro–Cerro Gordo Coastal Trails

These routes follow the cliffs east of Nerja near Maro and the protected natural park. Excellent for sunrise or sunset walks and much easier than the mountain routes.

Playa Cantarriján & Cala del Cañuelo

Shorter scenic hikes with incredible swimming spots. Great if you want more of a relaxed walking day with beach stops.

Best challenging mountain hikes

Navachica Peak

The highest peak in the Sierra Almijara range and a genuine full-day mountain adventure. Recommended only for experienced hikers with plenty of water and proper footwear.

Río Higuerón Gorge

A more rugged alternative to Río Chíllar with scrambling sections and spectacular gorge scenery near Frigiliana.
